Odors
Odor Advisory Committee
The Sewer Odor Control Advisory Committee (OAC) was formed in October 2002 as part of court order resulting from an odor-related lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles by the Santa Monica Baykeeper and the U.S. EPA. The OAC has provided valuable input to the City odor control effort by reviewing and making recommendations on:
- Odor Hotline Outreach Plan
- Odor complaint reports and the odor investigation procedure
- Effectiveness of the installation of the interim odor control facility
- Development of the Odor Master Plan
- Mitigation measures including the Air Treatment Facilities (ATFs) and other long-term mitigation measures
- Mitigation measures and the long-term odor control efforts underway by the City
